RNSA East Coast met with RNVR YC at Royal Harwich

A return to Woolverstone for the Branch keen to see the new £1M Club House on the picturesque banks of the River Orwell 32 RNSA members and colleagues from the RNVR YC met at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club for our annual joint activity. Two boats turned back due to the weather and others set off early on Friday to ensure they were in the River ready for the Saturday function, Dancing Bear Holly Mill, Indiana, Julie Marie, Moonfleet, Successor and Sulaire.

RN win the Services Offshore Regatta

The second week of June saw the coming together of both novice and experienced yachtsmen from across all three services for the Services Offshore Regatta (SOR). This year the focus was on Offshore Racing with a race from the Solent to St Helier, St Helier to St Peter Port and Guernsey to the Solent The IRC yachts headed out of the Solent with the three team boats choosing to go around Bembridge Ledge and the private entry RAVEN heading to the Needles.

PLYMOUTH CRUISING GROUP PROGRAMME 2013 (ISSUE 1.3 21 Jun 13) Sat 29 Jun River Yealm Meet – YYC unable to support 15 or 22 Jun so date changed to 29 Jun. Menus received 10 confirmed boats and 21 members.

The Services Offshore Regatta 2013

The RN Offshore Team retain the Madden Bowl and the Inter-Services Offshore Title The RN Offshore Team competed in the annual Inter -Services Offshore Yachting event - the Services Offshore Regatta, fought a hard set of races in Victoria 34’s from JSASTC and the chartered J109 Mermaid V. The regatta began at Hornet Services Sailing Club on Mon 10th June and following the standard race and boat admin saw all boats on the line off Gilkicker for a 1500 start.

Plymouth Cruising Group

A great start to the season On Sat 18 May, 32 members of the Plymouth RNSA Cruising Group gathered together at Jupiter Point Sailing Centre, Cornwall. Blessed with fantastic weather, the 12 sailing boats ranging from 27-38 feet started to arrive at 1100 with the last arrival berthing after a busy day racing at 1800.
