Waiting for the Tide

Apologies a quick correction to my previous Tidal Diamond piece, the AGM is on Sunday 9th not as stated. I got the correct date, but the wrong day – it’s not as if I’ve been a member for a long time with AGMs on a Sunday for as long as I can remember!. Once more for luck…

Tudor AGM this Sunday 9th January at 1400hrs
– Zoom link and docs in separate email

As ever, feel free to drop me an email at this address, it is always nice to hear from members. Any ideas of things to include in the Tidal Diamonds would be most welcome.

Let’s be careful out there.

Recycling – more suggestions

Old boat parts don't have to end up in landfill... The Green Blue, the joint environmental programme of the RYA and British Marine, gets to see quite a few ideas when out and about on site visits to clubs, marinas and centres. Car park barriers made from old masts to an old winch used to open and close a skylight window are just a couple that spring to mind.

Entry/Exit System (EES) for crossing EU borders

Expected to go live by June 2022 The EES is an automated IT system for registering travellers from third countries, both short stay visa holders and visa-exempt travellers, each time they cross an EU external border. This means that British nationals travelling to and from EU countries will no longer have their passports stamped.

Do you have a Tribord LJ 150N life jacket ?

Recall Decathlon are asking customers who bought the French sailing brand's life jacket between April and August 2021 to return it to a store, where a full refund will be given. The model code is 8641609. The defect, stated to be a risk that the life jacket's harness 'may fail if you fall overboard' is said not to affect the buoyancy of the product, 'but it may mean that you are no longer attached to your boat, making it unsafe to use.
