Weekend Sailing and Binness RNLI Race Cancelled
Due to the lack of volunteers for patrol boat the sailing committee has taken the decision to cancel this year’s Binness RNLI race. Instead we will do a cruise in company that will not be supported by a patrol boat. If you are interested in this cruise then more details will go out through the dinghy WhatsApp group. If you would like to be a part of the group then please drop me an email with your mobile number.
This Friday is another friendly Friday, if you are thinking of going out on the water then please do drop a message in the WhatsApp group to see if anyone else is interested in joining.
For this Saturdays summer series race 3 & 4 to go ahead we need a patrol boat helm and race officer. If no one volunteers via Dutyman for this or other duties then there may not be any racing for the majority of August.

Rowing Race Night at Friendly Friday
Thank you to everyone that came to the club on Friday. It was wonderful to see so many people there. A great mix of rowers and spectators as well as a few just propping up the bar .
As ever the racing was amiable, and fun (with a slight dash of ferociously competitive). The conditions were more challenging this month. With the wind SSW force 6 and a flow tide it was a stiff pull to Broom with the Stroke oar having to work hard keeping the bow to the wind, the return leg was a lot quicker but then the bow oar had the burden.
Our winners this month were Steve, Colin, and Josh. Congratulations chaps. Mandatory photo attached.
As ever the social aspect of rowing was equalled (if not surpassed) with wonderful food, drink, and laughter. A great night. Thank you to each of you involved in organising and running a fabulous evening.
As the evenings change and the days shorten we will advise in due course the format of the next race night.
As always get in touch if you want to book a seat for an intro to rowing. Places are also available for young rowers.

The paddle to the pub on Sunday 15th August has been postponed, this is due to me not getting the tides right (oops)
If anyone would still like to paddle then please meet at the club for 1230 ready to launch at 1300. We will then be back in time for the afternoon tea which needs to be booked in advance on Webcollect.
